My
cousin Barry, and his wife have worked on
"our" side of the WHEATON/WHETEN tree for over 12 years, in their
retirement. Now, what may be interesting to point out is the way my cousin
Barry spells his name... let me explain. Barry's father and my father were
"half" brothers... same father. His name was William Owen
"WHETEN". Barry's father (Jack) was one of 9 children from William's
first marriage. His first wife passed away and he then married his second wife.
My father was one of 9 children from that marriage. BTW, all of my father's
siblings are now deceased... and, that includes "4 more" children
William had... these 4 he had with a woman he left my father's mother for! To state it in simpler terms; my grandfather
(William Owen WHETEN) had 2 wives that he married and 1 he did not. He had 9
plus 9 children with the first two wives, and 4 with a
third women that he "ran off" with.
So, back to why my cousin Barry spells his name

The
following information was provided by Cristi Wheaton
presently of
Ephraim
was born abt. 1760 and he died abt
1832. He had three wives. Altogether Ephraim had 18 children. I had information on 11 of them and I had a
binder of several Wheatons I believed belonged to my tree but I had not proven
where they fit in. Then, I hit a gold
mine at the NB archives. After Ephraim's
death his children were all sued by Mayes CASE as Ephraim supposedly had
borrowed some money from Mays CASE and had not paid it back. The document named each child by name in
several places in the document. The
children answered on four separate answers.
All of the children who were under 21 years of age were on one answer, the children living

Notes
from Bill
It
appears William and Margaret (WILSON) started a new family with four more
children after the last census. William
Marshall (WHEATON) had become a Presbyterian and is now employed as a teamster
where he was listed as a farmer before, He must have been doing fairly well to
afford a servant. The four younger
children were probably a handful for Margaret.

Information
from
My
cousin Barry, and his wife have worked on
"our" side of the WHEATON/WHETEN tree for over 12 years, in their
retirement. Now, what may be interesting to point out is the way my cousin
Barry spells his name... let me explain. Barry's father and my father were
"half" brothers... same father. His name was William Owen
"WHETEN". Barry's father (Jack) was one of 9 children from William's
first marriage. His first wife passed away and he then married his second wife.
My father was one of 9 children from that marriage. BTW, all of my father's
siblings are now deceased... and, that includes "4 more" children
William had... these 4 he had with a woman he left my father's mother for! To state it in simpler terms; my grandfather
(William Owen Wheten) had 2 wive's
that he married and 1 he did not. He had 9 plus 9 children with the first two wive's, and 4 with a third women that he "ran
off" with.
So, back to why my cousin Barry spells his name

Information
from
My
cousin Barry, and his wife have worked on
"our" side of the WHEATON/WHETEN tree for over 12 years, in their
retirement. Now, what may be interesting to point out is the way my cousin
Barry spells his name... let me explain. Barry's father and my father were
"half" brothers... same father. His name was William Owen
"WHETEN". Barry's father (Jack) was one of 9 children from William's
first marriage. His first wife passed away and he then married his second wife.
My father was one of 9 children from that marriage. BTW, all of my father's
siblings are now deceased... and, that includes "4 more" children
William had... these 4 he had with a woman he left my father's mother for! To state it in simpler terms; my grandfather
(William Owen Wheten) had 2 wive's
that he married and 1 he did not. He had 9 plus 9 children with the first two wive's, and 4 with a third women that he "ran
off" with.
So, back to why my cousin Barry spells his name
