GEDCOM
FILES ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE TOP THREE FAMILIES ONLY.
THESE CAN BE TRACED BACK TO HUNTINGDONSHIRE and
CAMBRIDGESHIRE IN ENGLAND.
Several
families have been linked to those of Robert WHEATON and Alice
BOWEN, or Thomas WHEDON/WHEATON/WHEATON. See below
More will probably be linked to these families as DNA results
are received |
ANGEL (bc 1739-?) and ELIZABETH UNKNOWN
Angel and his wife baptised a son, another Angel
WHEATON, in Wytton in Huntingdonshire in 1764. This Angel's
grandson, William, together with his sons John and Thomas,
went to America in about the 1820s. Other than this
family, all the other WHEATONs in the counties of
Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire up to the end of the
nineteenth century belong to "our" WHEATON family.
Surely Angel WHEATON must be connected to our Thomas in some
way. Any information to assist us would be very
welcome.

"JOHN (1815-1856) and
Sarah CLARKE" and NORWALK,
HURON COUNTY, OHIO
We are particularly interested in this town.
The above mentioned Daniel from Huntingdonshire emigrated
there in 1852, following
"JOHN (1815-1856) and
Sarah CLARKE" from Cambridgeshire who had
arrived there in about 1840. There were many clues
which suggest Daniel and John were related. But we needed
proof! This has now been found and
the the information for John and his descendants is now
included in the family of Thomas WHEATON and Ann SPARROW
found on HUNTINGDON and
CAMBRIDGE WHEATONs page.
The
family of "WILLIAM
PHILO WHEATON and Clarissa Matilda WILSON"
also interests us as descendants still live in
Norwalk, Ohio, but they do not seem to be linked to
the families of John WHEATON and Sarah CLARKE or
Daniel WHEATON and Ann MEHEW. I have not been able to find them on
the 1850 or 1860 American Census returns

"ROBERT WHEATON (bc
1606 England, probably DEVON-1695/6) and ALICE BOWEN"
Originally details of this family were collected
from a friend, a descendant of the Angel WHEATON mentioned above
whilst we were visiting Michigan.
More information was obtained from web sites.
Some information was sent by descendants of Robert and Alice.
Recently more information was collected from the Root Web's
World Connect Project
HOWEVER,
THERE ARE DIFFERENCES AND PROBLEMS IN THE DETAILS PROVIDED.
ALL INFORMATION SHOULD BE CHECKED WITH ORIGINAL SOURCES
Recent contacts believe that Robert was born in England,
probably Devon. More research is being carried out.
The WHEATON DNA PROJECT should help us sort out some of these
problems, if there are enough contributors! |

| I am not able to research your
families in the United States, but if you would like
to send me a file of information I am more than happy
to add your details to the site. A distant cousin
might see it, and I really enjoy putting people who
belong to the same family in touch with each other! This has
happened several times since the site was first established. |
