Enlisted December 1863. Discharged 17th August 1865. Private in "1" Company 3 Michigan Cavalry. Disability incurred - Lung difficulties which began about the 1st March 1864. He was subsequently hospitalized in Nashville Tennessee, Detroit, Michigan and Louisville, Kentucky. Records state that he was 5' 8½" tall with hazel eyes, fair skin and brown hair. Refused pension in 1885 Henry later received one in 1908 when he was 78 years old. After his death Jane received $36 monthly.
