WHEATONS OF HUNTINGDONSHIRE AND CAMBRIDGESHIRE
The Huntingdonshire/Cambridgeshire WHEATONs
are the family to which my husband belongs. This
particular branch of the WHEATON family began with the
marriage of Thomas WHEATON to Ann SPARROW in Hilton,
Huntingdonshire in 1726. For several generations the
various branches of the family appear to have stayed
within the two counties. However, by the mid-nineteenth
century different individuals had moved to
Newcastle
in
Northumberland,
Manchester
and
then Liverpool in Lancashire,
Fulham
and
later Wandsworth in London, and in particular
several places in Lincolnshire
particularly
Kettering. More recently descendants of Thomas and
Ann are also to be found in Kent,
Wiltshire and
Hertfordshire as well as
Ireland,
Scotland,
Wales, Austria,
America and
Canada. |
So,
your WHEATONs do not live in Huntingdonshire or
Cambridgeshire today? And your parents and grandparents
did not live within the two counties? But, you never
know, their ancestors might be part of this particular
WHEATON family! Do please contact me to find out! A GEDCOM file for all the "DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS WHEATON c1700-1754" is available by clicking on the box above. The earliest WHEATON we have found in my husband's line is the afore-mentioned Thomas, born about 1700. Information on the WHEATONs in the direct line from Thomas can be found by clicking on "OUR DIRECT LINE WHEATONS" above. At present, information about HUNTINGDONSHIRE and CAMBRIDGESHIRE, the counties in which my husband's WHEATON ancestors lived, is to be found on the various sites provided by those counties. Information about the actual places in which these WHEATONs lived will be added in due course. |
