 In
late 2005 and early 2006 several people contacted me and all had an
ancestor born in Alderney in the Channel Islands whose descendants
were at one time living in Roath, Glamorganshire. It seems too
much of a coincidence that they are not related.
Using the web sites FreeBMD and Ancestry.com together with
suggestions from those descended from these particular WHEATONs a
provisional family tree
was compiled. And then a very kind researcher visited the
Devon Record Office and extracted details from some Devon Parish
Registers which linked the CHANNEL ISLAND WHEATONS back to the
Thomas WHEATON and Jane HAMMETT family which is to be found on
the DEVON WHEATONS page. The above link will take you to this
